Paris reunion

Hooray! we are all back together in Paris. We were back for Thursday night and set out Friday morning in search of another fabulous Paris park for the kids to play in.  Again, our fabulous tour guides, Lillian and Sylvia, suggested one of their favourite parks.  So, after an impromptu dance class in the lovely giant mirrors in the lobby of the apartment, we set off for Jardin d'Acclimatation! It is another example of a truly great child focused area in this big city.  It is very near Pierre and Sara's apartment - apparently Paris once walked it with the girls.  The amusement park is at the far edge of the enormous Bois de Boulogne (over 2 times larger than central park) all within the 16th arrondissement.

Impromptu dance recital

We saw this poster in nearly every Metro station - it provided much entertainment for all the kids.

Beautiful buildings during our walk to the park, I think this one is along Bd Maillot. It seemed to be a very posh neighbourhood with well kept buildings and gardens.

Ahhh...arrival at the park. Jake and Sofia were so happy to have equally enthusiastic partners to explore the park.  Mommy and daddy just don't cut it the way Lillian and Sylvia do :)

During the time of our visit Jardin d'Acclimatation was hosting an event to celebrate Brittany. They had exhibits all related to the culture and events from the region.  It looked very interesting but the kids were more interested in exploring the rides and attractions at the park.  From what I could see Brittany has a strong maritime heritage and wonderful crepes! HA

Equestrian expertise at its best.

There was an amazing trampoline section that provided much entertainment for the kids and a lovely rest for the adults.  Luckily there wasn't much of a line for the trampolines and the young girl supervising times seemed far more interested in texting than managing the jumpers.

Bumper Motorcycles! Behind you can see a very confusing hall of mirrors that all 4 children attempted and eventually exited but oh my! what an ordeal...sofia went running full force into what she thought was a door - but turned out to be a wall.  A very loud bump and a scolding from the woman in charge left Sofia in tears and afraid to return.  Luckily Jake, Lillian and Sylvia all encouraged her to return and conquer the hall of mirrors before we all moved on and didn't look back :)

Our happy travellers!

Negotiating the terms of the game - note yet another great play structure!

Mid-game conference

We decided to take one last visit to Le Marais for some delicious ice cream, one last falafel and a visit to place des vosges.  Jake and Sofia just can't get enough of the playgrounds and Andre and I were more than happy to oblige when it gave us the opportunity to wander around the beautiful neighbourhood and relax in the lovely garden for a bit.

A photo for pepe!

The beautiful buildings surrounding place des vosges.

You can see all the people (likely as many locals as tourists) enjoying this gorgeous spot.  In the distance you can see the squared off trees that were very common in Paris.

Fun!

Back home all together again - lovely Sylvia relaxing with a good book.
