Both loved their topics and instructors. I couldn't get them to leave at the end of the day - believe me that's a good thing!
For session 1 at the Gallery Sofia did a session where she created a giant ocean mosaic using glass, sand and other found objects from a walk on the waterfront and another called raising the surface which involved collages and stamping (she even carved her own stamp!).
For session 1 at the Gallery Jake learned to make paper and bind his own book, and then he did another session on music and art - they each created a character and added music or song to their presentation. Jake chose to add a piano song he'd been practicing.
At Neptune Sofia's session was based on Robert Munsch stories and they presented the paper bag princess...Jake's session was based on the Wimpy Kid stories and they composed their own stories to present. Both were amazing!
Finally...for session 2 at the gallary Sofia did Paint magic which involved painting many difference surfaces including fabric....and another session called Art, Dance, Drum where they included all 3 into a final performance. Jake did Paint Magic as well - both created fabric masterpieces that i will try to frame - and Jake did stop motion animation which was likely the hit of the summer for him!
i have lots of pictures and videos...here are a few.

I am jealous of your camps! The kids look enormous (and fabulous). How great that your parents can visit. The porch looks great, too!
ReplyDeleteSara, i have to admit the camps really are great for this age group. If you guys are ever here for a full week we should look at putting all the kids in some sessions - you can do 1/2 days. they would likely really enjoy it! :)
