french...ahhh...it's good to be back

I have restarted my french lessons and i'm so happy!  Wow do i ever love languages.  Doesn't mean i'm particularly good at them but i do love learning them.  I am back to listening to my french radio during the day - mostly from France but sometimes CBC.  I try to speak to the kids in french and especially their teachers when i can.

I am just finishing up some homework to email off - i do find languages with accents more difficult to type but perhaps that's a good test of my knowledge?

My current teacher moved here 6 months ago from france - the Calais region - and i am really enjoying the private lessons.  I am able to ask him all kinds of questions without worry that i'm taking someone else's time...which leads to conversations about tenses, conjugations, spelling and general knowledge of france.  i've learned all about post codes, area codes, the régions and départements...i've learned about fleur de sel and that brittany has the best crepes and there is a big push for les maisons vertes! HA.

I have tried my best to teach him what I can about Canada - specifically ontario and nova scotia.  He didn't realize toronto was as large as it is until last week - he seemed shocked to learn we have cities that big.  I hope he's able to see more of the country as he spends time here.  He says he hopes to spend years and eventually emigrate to Canada. Always makes you realize how good you have it.

On that note, Andre is already busy trying to plan our spring and summer vacations for 2013.  Love him.  We are really hoping to get to France...just trying to figure out logistics and if it's even possible.  Sara, I will connect with you on this eventually...if it seems to be growing into more than a dream.

My brain hurts from all the thinking. It's time to call it a night.  short week this week so must be ready to go tomorrow.  It's "active travel to school week" so walking or biking.  we will be opting for bikes as long as the rains stay away.
