all saints day...toussaint

we made it through - survived another halloween.
is it odd that with every year i like this holiday more? well, admittedly i don't love the sugar aspect but the kids are kindly getting past that for me...and i can squirrel away a little of their candy without them noticing and once it's gone we don't have any big meltdowns....

i've tried to make the holiday about the fun of getting/carving pumpkins, dressing up and gathering with friends...andre does a great job of supporting me on that!  he's a superstar when it comes to halloween...digs right into the pumpkin carving, will dressup right along with the kids (and actually seems to enjoy it thankfully) and i love that this is their moment with daddy to go and have an adventure.  while a teeny part of me misses taking them trick or treating a giant part of me enjoys the 3 wide eyed gobblins who return with smiles and giggles and stories of their adventures around the neighbourhood.  last night did not disappoint...andre, J & S went out in costume with 3 other families...all escorted by daddies in costume...and the weather was stunning (a short moment of rain but warm temperatures).  life is good.

I shall enjoy the energy and spirit of halloween for one more day and then put it to rest and move onto Christmas (ACK! no, i'm not ready for that yet HA)
