swish...

and November is almost done.

It's been a quick and quiet month.  The kids and I were sick off and on for most of it....and we just kept chugging along with swimming, gymnastics, basketball, piano and weekend activities. :)

The kids are doing so great in their activities.  Both little fish in the water, Jake is really enjoying basketball (to his and our surprise) and the weekends are full of dance, neptune and family time.

We've had lots of school holidays with Remembrance day, parent-teacher interviews and PD days.  Truly it's been lovely.  I realize these are the great days in my life and I get a little sad when I see them going by so quickly.  While it's go go go and I feel like I barely have time to sleep and change my clothes before we start all over again, I am so thrilled to be sitting there in the stands cheering the kids on at their activities.

Meme has started picking the kids up from school on Thursdays - thank you meme!  I hope you are enjoying it as much as we are.  The kids are so happy to have a little change in their routine and I'm very grateful for a break in the routine to get a few errands done without tagging the kids along to the grocery store or hardware store etc.

This past weekend Meme and Pepe very kindly stayed with the kids while Andre and I snuck away for the night to the Valley.  We had such a great getaway.  Andre took Friday off and we spent the day hiking around Wolfville, lingering over coffees and reading/resting.  The holiday decorations are starting to make an appearance which is totally getting me in the mood to decorate.

I'm almost done all my shopping - don't want to jinx too much as I have some big time consuming ones yet to finish.  My mother has been a huge help handling all the gifts at her end for me...coordinating with my aunts and cousins and receiving all the gifts I'm having shipped directly to her.  thanks mom! You're our little Santa :).  So looking forward to spending time with our family and friends in Ontario this year.  We haven't been there since February so I'm really feeling like I need to go connect with my strength there.  It will recharge my batteries for 2013; which I am so ready for as 2012 has been so full of sadness.  Perhaps that's why kids are so special? they keep you in the moment and always give you a reason to smile.

With that we are off to basketball practice....poor Andre is out of town until Wednesday this week (and for the next few weeks).  All I can say is thank heavens for online shopping!!  I have absolutely no idea how I'd manage otherwise.  Hang in there baby.
