I'm as excited as the kids for Christmas this year. I cannot wait for us all to hang out together for a full week! lazy mornings with toys, the paper, hot coffee all together in our pj's - what could be better really? Although perhaps I have my hopes up for something that won't be? maybe it will simply be a quick coffee...toast in the car...on the way to errands...children screaming...grumpy drivers....no! i won't let it happen...if i stay in the house how can it be bad right? HA.
I'm really looking forward to seeing my grandmother and family who I haven't seen since February. That wasn't really the plan this year but things kept getting busy that I never made it home again. Clearly I won't let that happen in 2013. That's a really long time to go without connecting with your roots. As much as I am Canadian and still live in Canada I don't live near enough to my home to get there even every 6-8 weeks. :(
Two of my cousins became engaged in November....so excited!!! This likely means 2 family weddings in 2013. While terribly exciting for everyone it's also a little frightening! HA. One will likely be in Ontario and the other has a strong chance of being in the UK. I am really really hoping at least I can go even if I have to go on my own - it would be great if Andre and the kids could join me but I know that's a financial long shot.
I haven't even taken stock of all the gifts lately but I am confident I have at least one thing for everyone haha. I am more excited about giving out the gifts than receiving anything myself. I just love choosing things for others and thinking about the joy it will bring.
With that....3 hours left of work...must get a few more things done and then farewell 2012 - have been done with you since January so will be glad to ring in 2013!!
