Saturday Morning in Paris

Really what could be better? Saturday morning, spring time, family around you...what a beautiful way to start our vacation.  We had the most amazing tour guides - 2 little girls who have explored the city and have all the best spots committed to memory. So, off we went exploring!

With everything just steps, or an easy metro ride away...we set off for the tuileries and the louvre...all 4 kids were troopers...laughing and playing as we walked them through the streets and parks of Paris.  J and S were amazed by how different things were...sights, sounds, architecture, vehicles, shops and of course the language!  While they are both in french immersion they were amazed that a whole world of french exists.  No english!

It was a long and tiring day with lots of things to see, taste and smell.  We all collapsed back at Sara and Pierre's apartment to a beautiful meal, wonderful company and time together - which is priceless.

this picture doesn't do it justice but the white asparagus were the size of cucumbers!

Children can entertain themselves with anything - you can see the Italian tourists behind them who were very sweet and seemed entertained by the giggles.

more fun in the tuilleries.

Here is a series - and my attempt at getting 4 happy children jumping for joy...you can see how i gave it my best shot but wasn't entirely successful. HA

This is a beautiful painting entitled "The Coronation of Napoleon"by Jacques-Louis David (1805-07)
Sofia found a post card of this amazing painting in the gift shop and sent it to her class - so she wanted a photo of her with the painting to accompany it.

beautiful rooms of the Louvre

1 little girl pooped by all the walking, reading, stairs and sights of the Louvre HA.

Look at that balance.

This is an amazing bakery that made the most delicious meringue cakes - Sara and Pierre may be able to help me with the proper names of the cakes and the bakery.

LeBlanc boys watching how quickly these talented bakers can assemble a cake!
