Long Winters

April weather isn't what it used to be and we suffered through a very long winter this year! I have to say, I miss the springs of home.  Growing up in Ontario I had become accustomed to warm sunny springs that begin in late March....after a long dark winter they are very welcome.  In NS we are the reverse, and I'm trying to get used to it. Springs here are wet and grey but they open into beautiful summers and an even more lovely fall - before we all go and hibernate for another long winter. But, let's not talk about that now!

Luckily for us the spring brings lots of birthdays and celebrations and visitors - thank you to everyone who brightens our spring!

We managed to keep ourselves busy with some fun activities like face painting - HA.  you may recognize these 2 creatures (or not).

Here are some random shots of Birthday festivities.  After Andre's birthday we move into mine and Jake's. This year Andre turned 40 and Jake turned 10! Big milestones.

As well, Jake participated in the School Heritage Fair.  Children had to choose something related to their heritage, canada and/or our region.  Jake chose to discuss and highlight his dad's Money Collection "My dad and the History of Money".  He did a great job and worked really hard!  We are so proud of him.

Sofia also started guitar lessons. Now both children are in guitar and piano.  I'm trying to learn along with her - it's not easy...but it sounds so pretty.

The ladies replanting my peace lilies - they are SO much happier in their new pot altogether.

Birthday Boy and his grandmas who love him very much!

Lovely ladies making Jake's birthday carrot cake.
