Both kids did well at school today. Jake had an 'in service' day but his after school program covers some so he was at school today just not in class. they had a great day and keep them very busy. Sofia was at her school and always has a smile on her face at the end of the day. It's wonderful to see how happy she is (after the disastrous fall we had) and her teachers are absolutely lovely.
Work was good for both of us today...the weather was your regular winter ick.
A woman I work with donated her car to a local charity. Her father passed away recently and left her the vehicle but she doesn't want it. I was very intrigued by this. I'm amazed that you can donate your vehicle and I can't figure out what they do with it? Do they use it for transporting things? Do they sell it as a whole vehicle or for parts? Either way, it was a lovely selfless thing for her to do.
Speaking of cars. I have a feeling we will likely need to invest in a new vehicle...the jetta won't last forever and as we transport our own kids to and from activities (with all the related accessories) we realize we are also carting friends around. It's all good we just can't fit many people in the jetta...so it looks like we'll be going back to a 7-seater. I dread next year and only being able to host a playdate for 1 child. Yes i know, there are children who go through life with no playdates, and it's not the worst fate for our children to take turns but it's also kind of nice to be able to help friends and neighbours when they need their children taken somewhere. Plus, when my parents visit we can't actually go anywhere right now because we don't have a vehicle that can carry all of us! It would be nice to take them around to dinner or the movies!
OH! and we've finally booked our flights to Italy. So, for our 10th anniversary in September we will be going to Italy and renting a villa with 2 other couples. I cannot wait!!!
