Our Random Thoughts: Easter 2012

Another Easter come and gone....a holiday that is quickly becoming my favourite!

I love the 4 day weekend, the extended family time, the smell and sounds of spring. Why do I love Easter so much? I don't quite know. It's like Christmas with the excitement of gifts and sweets but with less stress about visits, eating and the weather. What's not to love? We managed to pack it all in this weekend. Went for walks and bike rides, went out for lunch, snuggled on the sofa for a few movies (Harry Potter 1 and Titanic), we even managed to go sledding yesterday - the early morning snow, that was melted by noon, allowed us one final run down Gorsebrook hill. Now, hopefully winter 2012 is behind us!

Jake and Sofia had such fun on their egg hunt, the bunny was very sneaky with his clues but their keen minds figured it all out - ending with giant baskets full of goodies. Andre made a delicious glazed spiral ham for the adults :)

This weekend we are off to Moncton for the ECMA's (East Coast Music Awards)...Aliant is a sponsor so we have an event on Friday night and then hope to catch some of the 400 events around town on Saturday. It's always fun to go to Moncton and spend time with our good friends "the Mann Clan". It's a great for children and adults.

We recently celebrated Andre's birthday! such fun. I love birthdays. Jake and Sofia had a great time creating pictures that I framed so Andre could take them to work and look at them all the time. We also made cupcakes (Andre's favourite) and decorated them with coloured icing and sprinkles - you can never have enough sugar at a birthday! He's going to get himself an iPad...hopefully soon!

I was lucky enough to have a girls weekend in Montreal recently with Grace and Christy. A long overdue (6 yrs I think?) reunion. Lots of fun walking, shopping, talking, eating and generally relaxing. I had a fabulous time practicing my french and received many a compliment on my abilities. I managed to maintain conversations in french even with the staff tried to switch to english to accommodate me. Can't wait for my french lessons to start in a few weeks.

Speaking of a few weeks...my birthday is coming up this Friday and Jake's is the following Monday (April 16). I cannot believe he will be 9!! Big movie party planned for the end of the month with friends and family. Hopefully all goes smoothly and everyone has a great time.
