Anyway, no time to sit and dwell when such a gorgeous summer is off to a fabulous start! Wow. who would have predicted 5 perfect days over the holiday weekend? not us! HA. So glad we were able to get away to PEI with friends for a few days - always lovely to see them.
This week J & S are in camp at the art gallery and it sounds very cool - the only drawback is that it's inside, so on sunny days that's no fun. Jake is doing 2 classes - paper making which involves ripping up paper, dissolving it in water, blending it in a blender and i haven't been told the next few steps...but i would imagine spreading the mush out and letting it dry? his afternoon class is called "rocking the imagine" where they are creating imaginary characters with story lines and costumes...and on friday there will be some sort of performance involving music and costumes etc. i can't wait!! Sofia starts her day with something called Giant Ocean Mosaic....they have gone on a walk by the harbour to collect found pieces from the sea, they are creating pieces with clay and paint....and are apparently making a large mosaic - not sure if each child makes their own or they are making 1 for the entire group? Her afternoon is spent in a group called "raising the surface" where they are creating art with found objects as well. she likes crafts we call "junk art" meaning recycling items into art so this was a logical choice for her. On Tuesday (day 1) they made beautiful cards using stamped images - it was really gorgeous all kinds of shapes and colours. I didn't hear what yesterday was but I look forward to today's creation.
Today we are having a rainy day - not a surprise after the beautiful hot weather we've had...and I'm not complaining. I would prefer a mix of dry and wet weather vs. all of one or all of the other. things need water and I'd rather it came from the sky than my garden hose. And again, this is the beauty of Atlantic Canada where you open your windows to a fresh breeze vs. turning on the AC.
Next week we are onto Neptune theatre camp. Again, inside. I realize it's hard for them to come outside but I do hope they can manage it - part of being a kid on summer vacation is being outside! so even while your parents have to work i would like them to see the sun HA. and i'm grateful that they are in such fun creative programs that inspire their imagination. Reminds the rest of us what we used to be like - and gives us a chance to revisit.

Great PEI pics. I hope you are well. I saw a man wearing a Blue Nose half marathon shirt near the Differ Tower and thought of you all. We are having a crazy thunder storm right now. Looking forward to R and M's visit. Take care!!
