February and a rough winter

So sorry for my giant gap in posts.  The winter was very busy and I seem to have fallen behind.

February saw Jake really enjoying basketball and a fabulous week for both kids at NSCAD art camp for spring break.  I can't say enough about the NSCAD program! It was our first time participating - although I have been hearing good things for years.  Sofia's program was related to spring and Jake did a week of illustration/cartooning camp run by a local cartoonist.  amazing!

We also took a beautiful sunny Saturday and went to a sugar shack with friends. It was a really really REALLY long wait for a table but well worth it in the end. yum!

On day Sofia decided she wanted cupcakes but we
didn't have mix or icing...sooooo...we made them from scratch!

Very hungry and finally warm!

The next series are of an afternoon Sofia and I spent together.  She was determined that one of her dolls needed a new blanket and that we should make it. So, we went through all my extra fabric from my days of making baby blankets - as well as some left over pieces from my bridesmaids dress from Christy's wedding! With a little help and direction from me Sofia set about stitching a blanket.  I just love the determination and perseverance - she did not give up no matter how difficult and confusing it became.  And now, her doll has a beautiful homemade blanket. :)
