2013

Despite the cold it's a beautiful winter day out there.  As the kids say, if it's going to be cold there may as well be snow to enjoy.  This is my walk to work everyday.

I must admit that while I am not a fan of a long winter I do enjoy (and feel lucky to be able to enjoy) a fresh snowfall.  when the snow is clean and crisp and sparkles in the moonlight...and when you step outside into the silence and feel insulated by the quiet of a fresh snowfall.

We had a lovely Christmas/New Year holiday. I love having the kids home and doing all sorts of family things. It was an extra treat to have Andre home for a little bit longer with us. I do hope he enjoyed his break and is able to remember the fun we all have together as he heads back into crazy work schedules.

Sadly the kids and I were sick over Christmas....Andre and my mom over New Years - I talked to my mom yesterday and she's still not at 100%!  While i'm very sad to hear that I'm glad we're no longer under foot adding to her stress and hopefully she can rest in a quiet house for a few days. Also, meme and pepe have been sick since their return from France.  I'm so sorry to hear meme and pepe are now sick - Andre's been checking in daily...I will check in today (if you're well enough to be reading this I hope you're feeling better!)...I'd make some soup but I'm not sure my soup would make anyone feel better.  Meme is the best soup maker around!  I don't think there's anything she can't make into a delicious soup :).

We did manage to get out for a first ski of 2013 on Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised by how well we all took to the slopes.  The weather was perfect and there was a good mix of fresh and machine made snow.  The kids are amazing ski monkeys and Andre is so good at keeping up with them.  I'm a nervous nelly and tend to stick to 1 run HA.  As far as I can tell everyone seems to get what they want out of the day so it's all good.  Here are some pictures from Martock. It's not a huge hill but really great for families!
