Beautiful spring (summer) days

Yesterday was one of those beautiful spring days that feels like summer in every way but the date.  The warm breeze, the sounds of birds, the smell of flowers and the majority of the trees so close to full bloom!  It was a spectacular gift.  I also received the most beautiful Mother's Day card from my very special mother.  The message inside was so thoughtful and kind, it really made me cherish the fantastic person she is and the amazing example of mothering that she has set before me.  love you mom!  xo

while I was "off" yesterday, it was in no way a relaxing day HA.  3 hours of french (love) and then reading with sofia's class (more love)...I was very lucky to be able to pick J & S up at dismissal so we stayed and played in the playground for a bit and then came home for some snacks and basketball.  Here are some shots of J doing his new favourite thing.  Andre and I are both very impressed by his eagerness and dedication.  He is constantly asking to go outside and play basketball with someone.  And the beauty of our neighbourhood is; once you get out there 2 or 3 other children will join.  last night we had a little game of 2 on 2 going.

2 more gifts yesterday were that one of my rhododendron buds is just about to burst open.  I am watching it like a mother watches her baby - anticipating the beautiful splash it will bring to the garden.  I also managed to get a few shots of a blue jay, something that always reminds me of home :)
