When did she get so big?

I love this shot of Sofia, it's fresh and full of life! I love childhood.  What a magical time in our lives.  I am glad this is how we begin - innocent, excited & free.  I love the freedom of childhood.  This is where sofia loves to spend her time.  The other thing i notice about this photo is that she seems so long?  when did she get so big?! my "baby"!  Sofia was so proud of herself I had to take a picture :)

This week we have gymnastics, swimming, piano, basketball and a string performance.  Poor Andre will be out at work commitments 3 nights this week.  These are the times when I really question my ability to maintain a job outside the house.  This seems to be our new normal.  He's either out of the city or out for the evening.  I am finding it increasingly difficult to manage everything.  And the summer looming is stressing me out - hopefully the camps work out!  We'll see how gr. 2 & 4 go....I will be changing my hours in september to 4 days (up from 3 days) finishing at 2pm (vs. 5pm) to pick the kids up at dismissal. This is not an attempt to ease my stress (in fact, it will likely add more to my plate - as I will lose time I currently have to take care of family errands and household items) but it's attempt to help jake who isn't enjoying the after school options he currently has, and to make time for sofia to participate in more after school activities like music lessons.  This will be tough for us but it will be short lived in the grand scheme of things.

It just means better planning, less spontaneity and anticipating gaps in care better.  fingers crossed we're fine.

We will see how it goes - it's still 4 months off...perhaps something else will come forward before then and we'll change our plans yet again haha.

Late addition for Sara
I made this tonight after the kids went to bed - so easy and so yummy!  andre and I had to put it away before we ate it all :)
thanks so much!

  1. Is that the zucchini bread? Haha, I made one last night and thought about taking a picture, but I was too embarrassed at the state of it! I used MASSIVE chocolate buttons and it all kind of, fell apart. Tasted great though. But I wouldn't get any points if I was on Masterchef.
